The line up:
-Japandroids
-The Arctic Monkeys
-Passion Pit
- The Postal Service
Walking to the concert took a long time, but
once we were there it was so exciting. So many people were dressed crazy, in a
fun way of course. One girl even had rainbow stockings with her purple bikini
top. Once we arrived we immediately went to see the Japandroids (one of the
boyfriend’s favorite). They were pretty good and some fun because of how the
band joked about their work and Texas heat.
At one point Brian got on the drums and was jammin’ with
David. Later David gave a crazy drum solo. I don’t know if the picture was
foggy because of the smoke machine or the weather.
After the
show was over we had some time to hang so we went and got food. They had so
many food trucks it was hard to decide at first. In the beginning I wanted a
turkey leg (like the ones at six flags) then to see how monstrous they are we
went with corn dogs(another craving)d. Of course being at a special event I
just had to get a funnel cake. A little expensive but man oh man fried batter
with powdered sugar, gets me every time. Because seating was low, actually
non-existent, we sat in the shade near a little puppet truck…thing. We had a
bit more time left after eating so we ended up getting my hand hennaed and
filling the water bottles(ice was free at first then a $1 after-how cruel haha)
. The next concert to begin was The Arctic Monkeys.
What made this concert was not only the music but also Alex’s attitude. With the way he would slick his hair back and joke it was obvious that he just knows he’s attractive haha. And that accent hubba hubba (: Of course I was only one of the many screaming girls in the crowd.
After The Arctic Monkeys we went to my personal favorite, PASSIONN PIT!!!! WHICH. WAS. AWESOME. I got a little close to wear I was able to get a lot of pictures. The rest of the time I was with the crowd jumping and singing to most of the songs. At first we decided to leave a little early to get to The Postal Service, that is until the started playing “Sleepyhead” and “Little Secrets”. In the end it was a truly awesome situation because of how Michael would spread the love and visit the left, middle, and right side of the stage <3 He was also so enthusiastic-
I loved it!
It was also cute to see how hard the bands went on despite the heat and sweat.
Despite being totally in love with all the songs we managed to break away from passion pit to see The Postal Service for the one song I love so much (Nothing Better). To be honest I was only familiar with one or two of their songs but loved it all nonetheless. I want to say it was Jenny Lewis with the cool attitude but was a bit far to see. Either way it was great when her and Ben would sing together
At one point Jenny began playing her black V-guitar with her tongue!
